We are looking for part-time help on our small diversified organic vegetable farm in Buena Vista.
Work would be 2-3 days per week May through October. One day would be on-farm work (either Mondays or Thursdays), and one day would be working at our farmers market booth (Saturdays starting in June). There is also an option to add a third work day on Fridays starting in July. This would consist of harvesting flowers, making bouquets, and hand watering greenhouse plants.
On-farm work would encompass all areas of production and harvest. Typical activities would include weeding, harvesting, washing/packing vegetables, irrigating, and greenhouse seeding.
Previous farm or other outdoor physical labor experience preferred. Valid driver’s license, strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and on a team, and an eagerness to learn are all essential. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Farm work is fast paced and rewarding but also physically demanding. Speed, endurance, and a nice attitude are all strongly valued.
On-farm days would typically be 9am-3pm. Market days would typically be 7am-2pm.
$18-$20 per hour plus so many veggies!
Separately, we're also looking for a Salida resident to help at our booth at the Salida farmers market- Saturdays mid/late June through the 3rd week in October- 7am-1pm. This person wouldmeet us at the park in Salida and would not need to go to the farm in BV. There may be opportunities for this person to work on the farm as well, but they would mainly be market support.
