Description:Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of customer and company heavy equipment in a manner that reflects the company’s vision of working as “One Professional Team.”Mostly CAT equipment, some Komatsu equipment Uses safe working practices and follows all company safety requirements
Communicates effectively to ensure all repairs are completed correctly and timely
Diagnoses, repairs, overhauls, tunes, and performs maintenance on Caterpillar diesel and gas engines, generators, air compressors, and related equipment
Performs work accurately within estimate
Assists with scheduled Top End or Complete engine overhauls
Assists with engine removal/installation before and after shop overhauls
Performs startup of newly installed engines
Makes parts replacement decisions based on reusability guidelines
Effectively communicates recommendations for repairs both warrantable and non-warrantable
Promotes additional work and services to the customers as needed
Uses Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) and Service Information System (SIS) to diagnose and repair equipment with minimal supervision
Understands Caterpillar electronic engine control systems and properly troubleshoot and repair these systems
Uses of Caterpillar’s Service Information System (SIS), Technical Marketing Information (TMI), Dealer Business Systems (DBS), and Microsoft Outlook
Prepares and completes all related inspection forms for repairs, maintenance, warranty, and startup documents for new equipment
Keeps and maintains all information in an orderly fashion while on a job, and utilizes current processes and forms to retain and track information
Turns in parts credits, core credits, fluid samples, and receives signed documents for warranty parts and core returns from proper warehouse personnel
