Steward / Prep Cook is responsible for cleaning and storing all flatware, silver, glass, kitchen trays, pots, pans according to the direction of the restaurant management team. The Steward / Prep Cook also assists in food preparation as requested. This role reports to Chef de Cuisine. Essential Job Functions/Key Job ResponsibilitiesScarpe, stack, and clean all dishes properlyStore dishes and silver in the designated locationsSet up cleaning area: put dish machine together properly, fil all water tanks, turn on heating elements to dish machineMaintain a clean and sanitary work environment, participate in pre and post shift cleaning and organization to include but not limited to: kitchen equipment, walk in fridge/freezer storage, dry storage, trash, recycle, mopping, sweepingAssist with storage of food deliveriesClean kitchen walls, floors, loading docks, and other associated areas at the proper timeDisassemble, clean and re-assemble dishwasher prior to end of shiftPost appropriate caution signs when the floor is wet or being mopped to ensure highest level of safetyMaintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean orderly conditionAssist with preparing food items according to chef specificationsFollow daily preparation list to ensure items are ready for serviceReport any problems with food product, kitchen equipment or work area to a Chef/Sous chefOther duties as assigned.
