Essential Duties:
Responsibilities of this position encompass comprehensive facets of early childhood education, including building environments, trusting relationships, and classroom functions to promote children’s social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. This role follows Head Start Performance Standards and State regulations, ensures healthy, safe, and developmentally appropriate practices, leads engagement with families, supervises and mentors classroom aides, and ensures the classroom is maintained and secure.
Hourly Wage: The hourly wage range is $16.71 - $23.71 depending on education and experience.
Minimum Experience:
Must be 18 years of age and have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent certificate
Willing to obtain CDA within one year of hire. Tri-County Head Start will provide opportunities for training support to obtain a teacher’s qualification, including CDA support and coaching.
Previous experience working in early childhood with children ages birth through five years.
Criminal background check required for hire
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience working in early childhood with children ages birth through five years and holding:
A higher education degree, OR
Early Childhood college coursework, OR
A current Preschool CDA
TCHS supports continuing education toward a BA or AA degree in Early Childhood Education.
