We are a catering company first and foremost specializing in weddings and events around the 4-corners area. We serve everything from elopements for two to events for 400, and have served approximately 70+ events between May-October just this year. Each event features a custom menu, so no two events are exactly alike, keeping things fun and interesting.
We are looking to hire a full-time person, and as such need to keep the operation going year round. In order to do this, we are expanding our repertoire to food delivery, starting in the Forest Lakes development of Bayfield. The neighborhood boasts over 700 homes and 2500 residents, and is a prime target for food delivery services as there are none currently. We will be featuring an Italian-American menu with Mediterranean influences, offering a versatile menu of both comfort foods favs as well as fresh & healthier options.
This position would be full-time Thursday through Monday Nov-Apr, and Tuesday through Saturday May-Oct.
Duties may include the following:
CATERING
-assist with grocery procurement
-coordinate and execute production duties
-assist the Chef in ensuring food safety and quality standards are being met
-ensure staff are working safely and and follow proper sanitation procedures
-ensure the kitchen is clean and organized
-lead events and represent the Chef when they are not present
-assist with training of new staff members and managing the team
FOOD DELIVERY
-track inventory using par lists
-communicate with the Chef to coordinate ordering and production
-assist with grocery procurement
-coordinate and execute production duties
-ensure food safety and quality standards are being met
-ensure staff are working safely and and follow proper sanitation procedures
-ensure that orders are properly prepared according to orders and food is presented well
-assist with the creation of specials and new menu items
-ensure operating standards are being met
-assist with training of new staff members and managing the team
-ensure the kitchen is clean and organized
The right candidate will have:
-a love of food and cooking
-a passion for continuous learning
-a minimum of 3-years of kitchen experience, preferably at management level
-excellent communication skills, especially as it pertains to management and customer service
-knowledge of cooking methods and food preparation
-high level of attention to details
-excellent knife skills
-superior time management as it pertains to planning and execution of tasks for oneself and/or a team
-experience with kitchen equipment, handling and cleaning
-thorough understanding of sanitation practices and procedures
-ServSafe or other manager's certification (or be able to obtain such within the first 90 days of employment)
-excellent problem solving skills
-the ability to lead a team with positivity, especially when conditions are less than ideal
This position would start at a salary of $45,000/year, including 4-weeks paid time off per year. Other benefits may be offered after 90 days of employment. Full medical benefits are not available at this time, however, primary care services may be covered for the employee with partial coverage available for spouse/partner/children, as well as vision and dental plans.
