Farm Runners Food Hub Driver & Sales Position Job Description
Overview:
Farm Runners is a local food distribution company based in Hotchkiss, CO serving the Western Slope of Colorado with the mission of increasing sales of regionally based family farms. Farm Runners sources products from numerous regional producers and services many food establishments and individual consumers in the surrounding mountain towns within 100 miles of Hotchkiss. Duties of this position are to drive to farms to receive products, drive to delivery locations and make deliveries, and work to build relationships to further the sales of regionally grown food.
Responsibilities:
Safely and efficiently maneuver and operate non-CDL refrigerated vehicles
Receive and confirm product expectations on farms
Deliver orders to customers in diverse locations
Make sales calls and visits
Maintain relationships and good communications with customers and staff team
Demonstrate product knowledge including pricing and availability with enthusiasm
Participate and contribute to the advancement of Farm Runners
Qualifications:
Clean driving record
Outgoing and upbeat personality. Ability to establish rapport with a diverse group of business owners, chefs, buyers and entrepreneurs
Good communication and listening skills
Highly motivated, innovative, intuitive and persistent
Good organization and attention to detail
Excited about growing the supply of organic foods from local farmers
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Ability to navigate vehicles in mountain driving conditions and tight alleys
Ability to repeatedly lift boxes and bags weighing 25-50 lbs and use a dolly up and down stairs
Able to work days that start early and frequently last 12+ hours
Able to keep personal composure under time and communication stresses
Hours & Location:
Full Time with seasonal breaks
4-5 days per week
Located within a 20 minute commute of Hotchkiss, CO
Compensation & Benefits:
$28,000 to $30,000 annually plus commissions based upon experience. One week paid vacation plus paid seasonal time off in late spring and late fall.
