Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating excavators and other heavy machinery to assist in various construction and excavation projects. This role requires a strong understanding of equipment operation, safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Duties
Operate excavators safely and efficiently for digging, grading, and moving materials.
Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with site supervisors and other operators to coordinate tasks and maintain workflow.
Utilize various types of machinery including Caterpillar excavators, dump trucks, tankers, graders, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks as needed.
Execute horizontal drilling operations as required for specific projects.
Follow all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and report any malfunctions or concerns to management.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used on-site.
Qualifications
Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy machinery.
Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment is preferred.
Knowledge of dump truck, tanker, grader operation, bulldozer, loader operation, horizontal drilling, backhoe operation, and water truck operation is a plus.
Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment.
Ability to read blueprints and understand site plans is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
Valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to heavy machinery operation are preferred.
Must adhere to all safety standards and practices on the job site.
