Overview: Quinnipiac University's seeks applications for a Computer Lab Administrator in its IT department to manage laboratory(s) for specialized instructional and/or research computing applications. You will also be responsible for supervising all operations of laboratory including user assistance, software management, hardware integrity, and planning for future needs. Operational support for the hardware, operating systems, and applications used across all computer labs including Medical School, Game Design, Engineering and School of Communication Macintosh and PC base systems
Installs software, Images hardware, determines supply needs. Assists users with problems and provides education and information on lab use and capabilities. Opening, creating, communicating, and tracking trouble tickets in conjunction with our Help Desk
Supporting and maintaining software license servers working with our systems group and software companies to configure servers. Active Directory, creating OU’s, building group policies managing and configuring operating systems, applications, and users’ settings. Providing access to network shares for users and working with our systems group to resolve any higher-level issues users might be having
Evaluates software and hardware to accomplish labs’ mission
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma required
Bachelor's degree preferred
Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience with imaging technology/Management Software on both Apple/PC (e.g. Microsoft MDT/JAMF/Intune/Apple School Manager)
Proficiency administering computers using Azure Active Directory, Local Active Directory, Group Policies, WSUS, etc
Advanced expertise with operating systems and productivity software (Windows and Mac)
Relevant certifications: Microsoft, Apple, CompTIA A+, HDI, etc.
Well-rounded experience working with and supporting multiple computer platforms
Comprehensive understanding of computer usage in a managed network enterprise environment
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
