Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family. Current Connecticut RN License. Graduate of an accredited nursing school ASN Required (Must obtain a BSN within 6 years of starting in the RN role) BSN preferred. Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Role Scope Advanced Practitioners at Hartford hospital practice Emergency Medicine (ED) / Emergency Room (ER) in a very busy level 1 trauma center alongside residents and attendings. Advanced practitioners see patients from every triage level Schedule: Per Diem Advanced Practitioners Enjoy At Hartford HealthCare newly graduated and experienced providers are provided with the support and mentorship they need to succeed through on the job, classroom, and procedural training. Suturing, minor surgical skills, splinting/casting, gyn exam (job or preceptorship experience). Strongly preferred: minimum 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine. Proficiency with minor surgical skills essential. Required: Strong communication skills. Demonstrated ability to positively interact with medicalnursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Strong customer service skills with a focus on quality and efficiency. The ability to positively react to a busy, demanding, and dynamic clinical atmosphere with varying patient volumes, acuities, and medical problems. FNP / PA-C: graduation from an accredited FNP / PA program (Elective rotation in Emergency Medicine strongly preferred), Masters degree preferred. APRN / PA CT license, current certification, Federal DEA license required. We take great care of careers.
