Position Summary:The Site Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of safety and accuracy are maintained on all projects. The manager will also maintain all required safety and quality documentation for the project controls in accordance with the corporate safety standards and project specifications. Responsibilities:
Comply with (and actively promote) all safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents, and near-misses to ensure adherence to our number one core value – Safety First in Everything We Do
Conduct Safety inspections and Audits of projects
Review weekly Safety activity reports
Assist Superintendents with work planning and development of job hazard analysis and safe work procedures
Conduct accident/incident investigations including root cause analysis
Ensure that all inspection reports are accurate and timely
Review project quality and control (QC) specifications
Observe and document work processes
Monitor project for non-compliance issues
Risk assessment and mitigation
Oversee the quality control functions for all project operations
Prepare nonconformance reports and assist in developing corrective actions
Establish and monitor compliance with project specifications related to safety
Maintain Hi-Rail Equipment inspection reports
Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction, and rail industry regulations
CSP, OHST, or CHST certifications beneficial but not required
Minimum of 5 years of field safety experience in heavy civil and rail construction
Strong working knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Requirements
Strong working knowledge of Hi-Rail Equipment function and Inspection
Strong computer skills including MS Office
Minimum of 5 years of experience implementing and overseeing Safety program on rail projects

Team player and with strong interpersonal skills
Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goal
