This position performs corporate accounting duties and financial analysis in support of various accounting and business functions.

This will include the completion of month-end close, variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

This role will also include partnering with senior leadership and cross functionally to support other departments including Operations, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Customer Service, Logistics, Tax, and Information Systems.

A successful candidate will live in both the big picture as well as in the details and have a desire to help elevate the department to the next level.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

Makes recommendations and provides ad-hoc analysis and actionable insights to senior leadership to support cost saving goals and strategies.

Analyzes and explains key performance drivers including variances to budget, forecast, and prior year.

Works with other departments to relate operational and efficiency improvements to P&L. Works to help employees and management team understand the improvement effects on bottom-line factors such as revenue dollars, labor rates, and gross margins, fixed versus variable costs, variances, and G&A expenses.

Develops, maintains, and improves financial models, systems and databases for new and existing project accounting and financial applications.

Assumes responsibility for the integrity of the data contained in the systems and assures that adequate systems documentation is in place.

QualificationsEducation / Experience / Background:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Three or more years professional experience in financial analysis, preferably within a large corporate environment.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets (vlookups, macros, pivot tables, etc.)

Experience with major ERP systems, preferably SAP (S4/Hana).

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities.

Professional oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Self-starting, flexible and responsive; able to make independent decisions in a fast- paced environment.

Passionate and curious to learn and to stretch abilities.

Ability to adapt to new systems and processes.

Proactive and willingness to take initiative to solve problems and provide solutions.

Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
