The Associate Economic Data Systems Engineer is responsible for:
daytoday operations of economic data systems supporting economic and commercial data products as part of the Economic Data Lifecycle Platform;
managing and monitoring installed economic data systems and solutions and associated IT infrastructure to ensure smooth production operations; and,
participating in engineering designs for economic data systems and platforms to enable the IMF’s core business capabilities including surveillance, lending, and capacity development
Major Duties and Responsibilities 1. Provides technical expertise in coordination with platform owners, projects managers and technical leads of development teams, to systematically enhance and enrich economic data platform capabilities while adhering to the enterprise architecture and technology related policies. 2. Maintains economic data systems, support economic and commercial data products, and the integration with productivity applications on the enterprise platform to ensure adequate quality assurance performed prior to the enterprise wide deployment of operating systems updates and security patches. 3. Performs technical investigation and troubleshooting of production incidents. 4. Provides technical expertise in conducting workshops with country teams to examine the current platforms as part of macroeconomic framework and to recommend measures to improve performance. 5. Configures, manages, monitors, and provides tuning to installed economic data system solutions and associated IT infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance. 6. Monitors and analyzes economic data system usages statistics for the business domain platform and associated product families. 7. Provides technical expertise to enhance and enrich economic data platforms capabilities while adhering to the enterprise architecture and technology related policies. 8. Participates in technical planning with platform owners, product owners and business stakeholders to review user requests and assess technical options. 9. Participates with application development teams on the adoption of enterprise data and metadata standards, and enterprise tools and technologies. 10. Provides advice, guidance, and assistance to team colleagues as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline plus six years of professional experience is required.
Familiarity/understanding of economic data and associated data models
Knowledge of economic data systems and IT service management is desirable
Experience with the technical aspect of macroeconomic country framework is highly desirable
