Job Description

As a valued colleague on our team, you will contribute to activities related to strategic research, analysis, planning, and execution for Fannie Mae’s climate impact related efforts. In this role, you will participate and engage in cross-functional efforts, as well as engage project teams and stakeholders to advance business initiatives.

The

Climate team at Fannie Maewas created to address the inspiring, but daunting, goal of leading the company-wide response to climate related opportunities and risks. We need to accelerate our impact in this space as customers’, regulators’ and our employees’ expectations continue to rise and evolve with respect to growing climate related concerns.

As

Senior Associate, you will be responsible for helping the team with market research, scenario planning, competitive analysis, quantitative analysis, ideation, and road mapping.

The Senior Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Participate in activities that support the strategic goals and vision for business units and/or the enterprise.
  • Participate in strategy development, strategic plan formulation, and execution of business objectives.
  • Maintain and identify resources to support strategic goals and new initiatives.
  • Collaborate with your team and internal partners on unit's production, activities, and efforts.
  • Participate in the day-to-day operations, including financial analysis and modeling, market research, scenario planning, forecasting, and competitive analysis.

Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Desired Experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of analytical rigor and attention to detail
  • Strong experience conducting strategic research, market analysis, quantitative analysis to help with insight development; includes helping to determine market appetite for products/risk and best execution strategies
  • Daily monitoring of financial, economic, or regulatory events to inform leadership on how it could impact the company
  • Analytical skills with experience processing large amounts of data and information to derive insights, find patterns and develop actionable plans
  • Experience in the process of analyzing data to identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data
  • Program management skills with demonstrated experience self-managing complex program delivery in a fast-paced quick changing environment
  • Experience helping an organization to plan and manage change in effort to meet strategic objectives
  • Prior experience in financial services, management consulting, or investment banking
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Preferred Experience

  • Strong problem-solving skills and naturally inquisitive with a passion to figure things out
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
  • Interest in financial services, mortgage finance, or climate related topics
