Clinical Manager, Day Program

The Clinical Manager is a Qualified Practitioner (QP) who provides clinical monitoring and oversight for a mental health day services program.  This professional provides individual and group clinical supervision, and documentation review for professional level staff serving clients with serious and persistent mental illnesses.  The Clinical Manager will report to the President and CEO for all team-related concerns. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:  Coordinates intakes for the day program, including meeting with new referrals, coordinating completion of intake paperwork, assigning new referrals to treatment teams, and ensuring all intake paperwork is completed within Mental Health Rehabilitation Services (MHRS) guidelines.   Participates in the hiring process for Mental Health Specialists and other Day Services roles.   Is responsible for tracking, reviewing, and approving Individualized Recovery Plans (IRP) and associated clinical documents every 180 days. Provides individual and group clinical supervision of Mental Health Specialists and other unlicensed direct service staff.  Documents supervision accordingly. Works collaboratively with the Core Service Agency staff, especially in regard to psychiatric symptom management and primary care coordination. Attends weekly clinical meetings, daily management meetings, and treatment team meetings as needed.  Conducts individual meetings as necessary with clients, family members, significant others, other agency’s staff members, etc. Participates in performance improvement monitoring and evaluation. Writes performance improvement plans for indicators that do not meet threshold, ensuring that all outcome indicators are met. Coordinates all paperwork for reauthorization of day services, including gathering required documents from the CSAs including IRPs, Clinical Summaries, coordinating diagnostic updates, and submitting the authorization request in SharePoint. Also works closely with the billing/authorization staff in ensuring all clients have an active authorization. Facilitates groups as needed.  Meets with other community providers to market at the Day Program. Actively participates in and supports Day Services related fundraising events and community activities, contributing to the program's visibility and resource development. Volunteers for Qualified Practitioner on-call. Maintains the confidentiality of clients at all times and operates within the Code of Ethics of the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association. Develops familiarity with Joint Commission, Medicaid, and Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) standards and compliance requirements and assists as needed in maintaining Joint Commission accreditation, Medicaid compliance and DBH. May perform other duties as assigned.
