The primary responsibility of the Director is to conduct fundamental credit research on the most complex clients in support of Visa’s North American Credit Settlement Portfolio (CSR). The Director will be responsible for protecting Visa from settlement losses by ensuring settlement risk issues are appropriately identified and mitigated. What a Director, Credit Settlement Risk does at Visa:Provide exceptional credit assessments for the most complex banks, fintechs, and corporates. This will involve leveraging advanced analytical techniques with a deep understand of financial markets.  Help lead Visa’s key market initiatives and ensure that proper processes are in place to support credit due diligence and ongoing monitoring.Provide innovative solutions to help manage the credit risk for Fintech BIN SponsorsExpected to lead cross-functional and cross-regional projects by contributing and providing appropriate advice from a credit perspective.Collaborate with Global Credit Settlement Risk and Account Executives across the organization to understand new complex payment flows and recommend appropriate mitigating measures and new collateral options to manage the credit risks.Initiate and provide ideas in automating and enhancing risk management tools for effective ongoing monitoring and timely response to market shifts, especially for fintechs.Provide proactive insights related to scenario stress testing to effectively manage the settlement risks of the U.S. and Canadian Portfolios.Ensure Credit Risk Policy and Procedures are adhered to when assessing new clients and renewals of existing clients.Lead complex projects and meetings, deliver presentations and be able to interact with all levels of Visa management as well as our clients.The Director will report directly to the Vice President, Credit Settlement Risk North America.   What the Role Includes: We are looking for an experienced individual with a curiosity about payments and fintechs and corporates, who is purposeful, and client-focused.  The successful candidate will have exceptional counterparty credit skills and a deep understanding of the financial markets and payment ecosystems.  Specifically, he/she will: Co-manage credit relationships for both the U.S. and Canadian financial markets, corporates, and fintechs.      Manage, actively engage and work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to develop strategies that support business growth while addressing risk concerns.Actively manage client relationships from a credit perspective including frequent discussions with C-Suite executives of our clients.      Anticipate client defaults (as far as possible) to help minimize risk exposure to Visa.Evaluate and manage global credit relationships for large financial institutions, Corporates and fintechs.     Minimal travel is requiredThis is a hybrid position.
