About the Department The Diabetes Sales Team leads the US sales efforts for Novo Nordisk’s robust cardiometabolic product portfolio, which includes world class therapies for the treatment of diabetes, obesity, and the reduction of adverse cardiovascular events. As part of the team, you will have frontline exposure to our portfolio vision, business strategies, and critical market insights that drive our business forward. You will drive the NNI portfolio strategy in tandem with our marketing team, and balance performance with compassion to ensure that the latest therapies and products reach the people who need them most. The Position Influential first-line People Leader within a Region, responsible for leading Educator teams focused on establishing Novo Nordisk as the leader in diabetes care and obesity in the execution of strategies within targeted accounts. Effectively and successfully grows and develops the people, while ensuring an extremely high level of consistent coordination with key stakeholders. Relationships Internally, the Educator Manager (EM) reports to a Region Business Director (RBD) in the Commercial Area and has direct supervisory responsibility for field-based Diabetes and Obesity Educators. Works closely with District Business Managers, Obesity District Business Managers, Market Access, Trade, Medical, and home office personnel to coach their teams and align education pull-through and tactics to achieve sales goals and objectives. Externally, the EM will maintain relationships with KOLs in coordination with other NNI Sales and account leadership. This will include KOLs and key departments influencing diabetes and obesity care (e.g., diabetes centres of excellence, quality, care management, population health, and other key departments focused on improving diabetes and obesity disease management across the system population). Essential Functions
Coach and develop Educators and ensure that overall team objectives are being met
Ensure alignment and coordination with account strategies/plans, and education pull-through/tactics to drive superior results
Collaborate with Director to identify educational needs and implement education strategies and tactics to support training needs in each area of responsibility
Remain up-to-date and competent on policies, SOPs, company priorities, relevant business and market updates, Novo Nordisk product labels and competitor products through company sponsored and approved training programs
Continually improve the team’s knowledge of Novo Nordisk products, competitive products, market updates, and customer engagement skills through ongoing coaching and development plans
Ensure direct reports are maximizing opportunities with NNI brand strategies, pull-through and support programs aligned to improve diabetes and obesity care
Ensure that the Obesity Educators understand evolving standards of care in weight management, along with other relevant treatment guidelines and that their work is focused on those standards
Ensure teams effectively identify “at risk” patient populations and utilize education and other relevant treatment guidelines to recommend, in compliance, the most appropriate NNI products and solutions
Collaborate at a high level with key cross-functional stakeholders to achieve business objectives in a complex, matrixed, and virtual environment
Regularly communicate commercial performance measures, market updates and insights to ensure teams remain up-to-date
Analyze, review and provide monthly report on Educator activities for direct reports to Director
Evaluate appropriate use and allocation of resources to ensure attainment of program goals
Responsible for effectively managing budget within targets
Responsible for ensuring and tracking compliance with regulatory/legal mandates
Review and audit direct reports’ expense reports. Exercise prudent control of field expenses
Ensure timely and accurate submission of other administrative requirements
Physical Requirements
50-75% overnight travel required; Driver must maintain a valid driver’s license. Must be in good standing by not exceeding the Novo Nordisk points threshold assigned based on review of Motor Vehicle Records.

Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.
Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.
Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree required, and/or Pharm D
Minimum of 5 (five) years' progressive healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
Including minimum of 2 (two) years of management and/or team leadership experience preferred or relevant NNI Educator experience
Experience in multiple therapeutic areas (e.g. Diabetes, Obesity, CV, NASH, CKD) preferred
