If you have an active Secret Clearance or Top Secret clearance, we encourage you to apply!The maintenance mechanic will be assigned maintenance, repair, or minor construction related work in support of various contracts around the DC Metro area.  They shall have four (4) years of experience, at a minimum performing various general building maintenance functions in a variety of skilled and semi-skilled craft trades to support carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and other facility support tasks.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, installations, and upkeep of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).Painting and Drywall Work: Execute high-quality painting, patching, and drywall installations and repairs, ensuring a polished and professional appearance.Carpentry and Handyman Services: Perform minor carpentry, assembly, and repair tasks, including furniture assembly, door repairs, and shelving installations.Preventive Maintenance: Support preventive maintenance services for select facilities or in support of other contracts. Examples include changing filters, fluorescent tubes and other light bulbs where needed.Customer Service: Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and inquiries from staff, ensuring clear communication and excellent service.Attention to Detail: Maintain a clean and organized work area. Ensure tasks are completed with precision and in line with safety standards.Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Skills and AttributesProficiency in painting, drywall installation and repair, and general handyman tasks.Solid understanding of basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.Ability to troubleshoot issues effectively and provide creative solutions.Exceptional attention to detail and high standards of workmanship.Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to read Architectural blueprintsAbility to communicate clearly through emails, text messages and phone callsBasic computer skillsSelf-driven individual that can work independently or as part of a team.Physical Effort and Working Conditions:Must have the ability to make repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms.  Works with systems and equipment in hard-to-reach places requiring standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in tight and uncomfortable positions.  The worker frequently lifts, carries, and sets up equipment that weighs up to 20 pounds.  Occasionally, may lift and carry items that weigh over 80 pounds.  The work is done inside and outside, and can be dirty, dusty and greasy.  Sometimes it may be required to make installations and repairs when unpleasant smelling fumes are present.  There is frequent exposure to uncomfortable heat conditions and to the possibility of strains, cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns and infections. Requirements:Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.Must be a U.S. CitizenExisting HSPD-12 is desirableExisting Top Secret Clearance is highly desirable (must have a Secret clearance at minimum) OSHA 30 is desired
