The Coordinator will report directly to the Senior Government Affairs Director and serve as a mentor to junior team members.Job ResponsibilitiesAssists senior Government Affairs team members and works independently in providing daily service to clients including joining in person meetings and conference calls, taking notes, monitoring follow up, and directly engaging with clients.Oversees reporting of key developments on Capitol Hill pertaining to bills, committees, policies, and members of Congress.Based on knowledge of current and prospective client work, conducts research into specific White House announcements, bills in Congress, regulatory proposals at federal agencies and related press or announcements.Prepares memos, presentations, briefing materials, one or two pagers and talking points for client meetings in Congress or at federal agencies.Conducts online research concerning potential new clients, industries, sectors businesses and public policy initiatives related to the Group. Highlights relevant information from the research to the team working with the client.Partners with the Government Affairs Group administrative team to support to the Government Affairs Group when needed or for critical clients, including coordinating schedules, meetings, and client events.Independently plans, tracks and organizes meetings with Congressional members and staffers, federal agency officials, occasional state legislators, key stakeholders, and others.Plans client calls, Congressional Fly-Ins and other client D.C. meetings.Manages internal resources to help set up special meetings and events in Washington, D.C. with senior corporate executives for clients.Maintains billing records and extensive filing system; and schedules and coordinates telephone conferences.Attend pertinent meetings and events outside of the office, as needed.Performs other duties as assigned by management.
