Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Copy Clerk to join our team located in Washington, D.C. This role focuses on providing back office services, including reprographics copy and mail services, in both physical and digital environments. The candidate will also be expected to provide support for services in facilities, reception, and other service lines as required. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. Fill out job tickets properly before initiating work, ensuring all tasks are well-documented. Perform work in office services, primarily reprographics, mail, and intake functions, following established procedures. Prioritize workflow and execute tasks in the proper order to meet deadlines. Communicate effectively with supervisor or client on job or deadline issues. Meet contracted deadlines for accepting, completing, and delivering all work. Troubleshoot basic equipment problems, ensuring smooth operations. Handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information with care. Ensure quality assurance on own work and work of others. Load machines with various paper and toner supplies as needed. Answer telephone, emails, and place service calls when needed. Interact with clients in person, over the phone, or electronically. Adhere to company policies and procedures in addition to client site policies. Responsibilities The Associate Director (Research & Scholarly Services) is responsible for leading Smithsonian’s Institutions (SI) 21 research libraries which provide pan-institutional research and collections services. Qualifications Basic Qualification Requirements: All librarians must meet the requirements for professional education in library science or possess equivalent experience and education. Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate study in library science in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work required for a bachelor’s degree. OR A total of at least 5 years of a combination of college-level education, training, and experience. To qualify on this basis, the applicant must establish conclusively that the education, training, and experience provided a knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of professional librarianship; a knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and information services.
