Location: Washington, DCSchedule: part-time between 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through FridayFLSA: Non-ExemptPosition Type: InternshipAkin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are currently seeking a Practice Management Intern in our in our Client Value & Practice Management department, reporting directly to the Public Law & Policy Practice Coordinator. The Practice Management team is an integral part of the firm focusing on internal and external needs and promoting overall operational efficiency within the Public Law & Policy practice. The Practice Management Intern will have the ability to gain an understanding of the behind-the-scenes operations at a lobbying and law firm with an opportunity for mentorship and professional growth.Key responsibilities of this position include:

Support practice management projects by conducting research, compiling data, and creating reports and charts.

Help maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking charts, including recruiting lists.

Update content for internal website.

Assist with onboarding and offboarding team members.

Format and proo internal communications and presentations.

Maintain team calendar.

Assist with weekly and monthly reporting tasks.

Assists with other operational/administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

High School Diploma or equivalent, two years of college preferred

Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook Word and PowerPoint

Established attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize among competing tasks under pressure and time constraints

Ability to work in a team setting and collaborate with peers and superiors

Good judgment and a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and loyalty

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of client, firm and office information and adhering to the Firm’s Core Values

Education Additional Information DIA positions are Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) positions in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601.
