Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
14 years of experience working on policy issues for companies or within government, think tanks, public interest groups or relevant industry associations.
Experience running campaigns either in the political or corporate environment.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working on public policy issues in the technology industry as an advisor and partner to business teams in product development, go-to-market, and other business areas.
Experience in policy and political issues relating to technical infrastructure (e.g., data centers), IaaS products, PaaS products, and SaaS products.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, with a track record of executing cross-functional projects.
Ability to identify and understand key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations in legislative and regulatory proposals, and understand and communicate business and policy implications to internal and external stakeholders.

We work closely with product and business teams to minimize risk and increase opportunity for success and growth. Our team's mission is to help Google, governments, and civil society responsibly navigate the social, political and economic issues of our time.In this role, you will lead global strategic policy campaigns, and support Google Cloud stakeholders for our government affairs and public policy efforts.Google takes its responsibilities seriously, including engaging with government and other stakeholders on important public policy challenges. The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the company’s engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,000-$314,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Develop and lead global strategic policy initiatives to advance business priorities for Cloud GAPP.
Work closely and collaboratively with regional Cloud GAPP, other GAPP teams and Cloud Legal on product, compliance, regulatory, and legal initiatives that require product, compliance, and regulatory expertise and engagement with the primary goal of promoting Google Cloud adoption in key jurisdictions.
Engage with officials on strategic agreements, challenging new certification standards and upcoming legislation impacting our business strategy.
Provide strategic policy advice to Cloud leadership to inform our product and business strategy.
