You will provide global operational support and technical expertise to assess ergonomic risk as well as optimizing work place performance for job effectiveness & efficiency, enhancing human performance and preventing injury and improving quality of work.The role a blend of human and organizational performance and includes ergonomics, and “new view” safety/quality and risk management. We are on a journey of excellence, driving the frontiers in this critical focus disiclipine.The scope of this role encompasses all aspects of company operations, including manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, R&D, field sales/service and administrative work conducted in company offices, on the road and at home.This position will enable opportunities to improve our business processes using human performance tools and methods, while maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality. You will have a direct impact on our patients by ensuring safe and repeatable operations.Key Responsibilities:

Support the global implementation of the Human Performance Strategy in J&J by providing expertise and support of its execution and further development.

Develop and improve existing processes/tools/approaches and information to support operations in optimizing human performance and improving risk management capacity - 'making it easier to do it right.’

Build human performance capability across the organization.

Coaching line, functional leaders, and human performance champions on the practical application and deployment of human performance tools and approaches for quality and safety.

Enhance safety & quality leadership capability through contribution to content and engagements with the business.

Reinforce a learning culture as a key priority for the Human and Organizational Performance program.

Focus on robust root cause analysis and identifying and implementing lasting solutions to prevent risk.

Work with business partners to design and implement human-centered systems, processes, and work environments and measure performance progress.

Develops ergonomics capabilities in others through training and mentoring and supports an internal ergonomics network across EMEA, ASPAC and The Americas.

Promotes a culture of collaboration, teamwork and sharing best practice across sectors and regions.

Actively demonstrates coaching, mentoring, caring and inclusive behaviors to enhance others’ skills in ergonomics / human performance.

Collaborate with members of EH&S, Quality, Business Excellence, and other functional areas to ensure consistent approaches and leveraging of best practices across J&J for the improvement of operational reliability and resilience.

Represents the company at external HOP forums and benchmarking groups and brings back technologies and solutions seen to demonstrate value. Identifies and analyzes innovative solutions to company challenges.

QualificationsEducation:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. Focus degree in Human Factors & Ergonomics, Industrial/Engineering Psychology, HSE, Risk Management is preferred.

Experience and Skills:Required:

A minimum of 8 years of related work experience.

Relevant experience in Pharma/Medical Device or other regulated industry.

Experience in several of the following areas: Application of human performance principles and the tools and techniques of human factors in the majority of our focus areas including safety and quality culture and leadership, task analysis, procedures and job aides, incident learning, design, and management of change.

Track record of strategic thinking and influencing in your part of the business:

Promoting the human performance perspective in your business and applications of associated tools and techniques

Development and mentoring/coaching others in human performance/human factors

Excellent oral and written communication.

Experience working in a regulated environment.

Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence behaviors and negotiate and resolve challenges with tact and diplomacy.

Excellent demonstrated project management skills are required.

Other:

Certification in Human Performance, Lean Six Sigma, or advanced causal factor methodologies is preferred.

This position may require a 30% of domestic and/or international travel.

The preferred location of this role is New Brunswick, NJ but this position is also available to work at any Johnson & Johnson Site located in US or EMEA.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,550. In the Bay Area, the anticipated base pay range for this position is $136,000 to $234,140.The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
