Description We are in search of a Staff Attorney, based in Washington, District of Columbia. This role is a long-term contract position. As a Staff Attorney, you will work in a legal capacity within our organization, conducting extensive legal research, drafting legal memos, and working closely with a small team. Draft legal memos and other documentation for company review. Collaborate closely with a small team of attorneys to achieve shared objectives. Apply your experience in Federal Litigation and Civil Rights Litigation to effectively handle caseloads. Use your skills in Adobe Acrobat, Case Management Software, Document Management, Briefing, and Litigation to enhance our legal operations. Monitor and take appropriate action on client accounts. Ensure all legal proceedings, policies, and practices meet a variety of government regulations. Work with other departments within the organization to identify potential legal issues and recommend possible courses of action. Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer credit records. Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.Requirements Must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Must be admitted to the state bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Document Management is required Experience with Case Management Software is necessary Should have a demonstrated background in Briefing, Civil Litigation, Civil Rights Litigation, and Civil Litigation Experience Proven experience in Litigation and Federal Law is required Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and in a team Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards Strong negotiation skills and ability to provide sound legal advice Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Must have a professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
