This role combines creative storytelling, strategic planning, and audience-focused outreach to ensure consistent, impactful messaging across various channels.LocationHybrid- Fairfax, VA. Must be willing to go onsite in the office.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that align with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.
Create compelling content for press releases, newsletters, blogs, speeches, presentations, social media, and other communication platforms.
Craft consistent and cohesive messaging tailored to diverse stakeholder groups, including employees, partners, media, and the public.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication campaigns, using analytics and feedback to refine strategies.
Plan and execute events, webinars, town halls, and other initiatives to engage stakeholders and gather feedback.
Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and op-eds to generate positive media coverage.
Develop and implement digital communication plans to enhance the organization’s online presence and engagement.
Monitor trends, metrics, and audience feedback to optimize social media strategies and campaigns.
Collaborate with leadership to ensure clear and transparent communication with employees.
Develop internal communication tools, such as newsletters, memos, and intranet content, to keep staff informed and engaged.
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance; US Citizenship required.
Must reside in the United States and work must be performed in the United States.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or engagement-focused roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Federal government experience, with a preference for experience with DHS.
Certifications in communications, engagement, or social media (e.g., APR, HubSpot, Hootsuite).
Knowledge of public relations principles and best practices.
Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems (CMS), and analytics tools.
Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
