We are currently seeking a Strategic Communications Lead with 6+ years of experience to join a diverse team delivering project management office (PMO) and communications strategy and implementation for a complex project while fully embracing our commitment to deliver, grow and thrive . About the Role: As a Strategic Communications Lead supporting our federal government client, you will be trusted to provide strategic planning and implementation support to broadband grant programs in the pre- and post-award phases. This role requires coordination across team, client, and interagency contacts; assisting executive leadership and staff with communications activities; establishing and maintaining relationships with cross-functional groups; collaborating with colleagues to clearly define project goals; and generating effective solutions to fulfill project needs and objectives. This work will also entail building relationships and facilitating meetings with senior government officials and state, local, tribal, territorial, and industry stakeholders. Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Work with project leadership to guide the team in a fluid and ambiguous client environment, aiding staff in pushing projects forward effectively.

Cultivate a deep understanding of client objectives while establishing relationships with senior government officials to explore new avenues of opportunity.

Lead the team through the process of developing communications and outreach materials, presentation talking points, fact sheets, reports, infographics, press releases, Congressional announcements, and more, with high attention to detail and product quality.

Support writing and implementation of stakeholder outreach and engagement strategies, to include communications plans for multiple programs.

Manage planning, logistics, and execution of in-person and virtual workshops and webinars.

Work closely with a multifaceted team, integrating individuals of various backgrounds, skills, and viewpoints to collectively pursue client objectives.

Work effectively with stakeholders from outside the organization to obtain information and keep the projects and tasks on schedule.

Conduct work with integrity and display sensitivity to working in a high-stake, high-pressure organization and decision-making environment.

Location:

You will work a hybrid schedule in metro-accessible Washington, DC with onsite support required up to two days per week. Flexible work arrangements negotiable.

Required Experience/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum 6 years of communications experience

Experience working as a federal communications consultant

Experience working on government programs

Experience working with senior executive-level clients

An understanding of the various stakeholders across the broadband landscape and what roles they play

A solid understanding of the most effective ways to engage stakeholders

Excellent written and verbal communication (prose and presentation) skills, especially the ability to articulate and tailor complex strategic situations and strategies to effectively communicate to audiences

An understanding of the grants management lifecycle and programs

Data management skills and experience with Excel, including the use of pivot tables and VLOOKUP

Strong task and people management skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment by communicating effectively

Experience working in complex client landscape and ability to quickly pivot to shifting priorities

Ability to work independently and take tasks from concept to delivery

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance

US citizenship or permanent resident and the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability

Preferred Experience/Skills:

Professional experience using and applying Associated Press Stylebook guidelines to communications products

Experience working on communications campaigns across different mediums to include multimedia, video, and web

A relevant BA/BS degree in journalism, business, communications, public policy or closely related field

Knowledge of existing communications technologies and software

Marketing experience

Performance management experience
