Our work depends on a Communications Specialist joining our team to advance IO initiatives through the drafting, editing, improving, and standardizing various IO documents and materials. As such, you will support the creation of communication products, videos, social media campaigns, website content as well as providing recommendations on best practices including content, usability, and design for such products and campaigns.HOW A COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT● Create or improve upon communications through the development of standardized materials for both internal and external stakeholders● Participates in the development, revision, and updating of internal and external communications materials in coordination with contract and IO leadership● Support the creation of strategic communications plans and campaigns to highlight HSI and IO missions and values across multiple platforms and directed towards multiple audiences● Recommend best practices to improve efficiencies throughout the creation, deployment, maintenance, and updating of communications catalogue products● Utilize multiple forms of media including but not limited to documents, video, photography, and webpage content to improve IO’s image to government and public audiences● Create and develop professional communications and reporting products for multiple audiences (i.e. Leadership, Congressional, Media)WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science● Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience including 1+ year of relevant experience in investigation, intelligence, analysis, and/or report writing● Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI Eligible● Required Skills and Abilities: experience in drafting, enhancing, technical writing, and/or professional copy editing to include supporting creating products used in brand development, communications campaigns, and/or web based communications campaigns● Preferred Skills: experience with government criminal, intelligence, investigative, reporting, and or travel databases with knowledge of visas and immigration laws and procedures as well as experience converting complex information into easily understood concise presentations such as quick reference guides and SOPs, adapting to changing environments quickly, applying creative solutions to challenges presented, and managing multiple deliverables under extreme time constraints as well as familiarity with relevant software such as Tableau, Microsoft SharePoint 2013 (or future agency versions), MS Suite, Adobe Suite, and/or similar design and document creation programs● Location: Hybrid● US Citizenship RequiredGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:● 401K with company match● Comprehensive health and wellness packages● Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career● Professional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications● Cutting-edge technology you can learn from● Rest and recharge with paid vacation and holidaysThe likely salary range for this position is $57,866 - $78,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Individual Occupational Requirements Education Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Must have included a total of 15 semester hours in an appropriate scientific, technical, or social science field(s), and at least one course above the introductory level in the field(s) covered by the position. For technical manuals and specifications writers or editors, the equivalent of 15 semester hours may have been gained through vocational or educational training above the high school level at a public, private, or Armed Forces school. OR Experience Specialized Experience (for positions above GG-5): Experience that required substantial subject matter or technical knowledge of the field. This experience must have demonstrated the ability to acquire and present technical information through independent reading, interviews with subject matter specialists, observation of tests and experiments, interpretation of blueprints or diagrams, or other appropriate methods. Such experience may have been acquired as a writer or editor of technical reports, articles, manuals, or specifications. Education Additional Information DIA positions are Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) positions in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601.
