Job DescriptionThe Future Talent Program features internships that lasts up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Research Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.Global Clinical Data Standards is a part of the Global Data Management and Standards division within Global Clinical Trial Operations. Our mission is to reliably and consistently define and maintain a high-quality, transparent, reusable, and compliant set of clinical data standards that facilitate our company to effectively and efficiently achieve clinical development milestones that enable our ability to provide medicines for our patientsWe are looking for interns to help us drive adoption of emerging processes, tool and technologies in information management through collaboration with our internal stakeholders.Potential opportunities include:

Applying strong data curation and analysis skills to uncover business insights related to service management

Establishing FAIR principles to data standard definitions and promote re-use of those definitions

Identify areas for process improvement, implement a solution, and measure effectiveness of the implementation plan

Support mapping activities from data collection at an investigator site to Study Data Tabulation Model (SDTM) reporting to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

Learning and understanding Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) controlled terminology, evaluate new terms, and submit those terms for approval.

Required Education and Experience:

Candidates must be pursuing a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

Candidates must be able to commit to full-time employment (remote or hybrid) for 10 - 12 weeks beginning June 2025

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Candidates should have understanding of information management practices. Knowledge of industry standards (e.g. Controlled Terminologies, CDISC SDTM, ADaM, & HL7)

Candidates should have ability to manipulate and combine data from disparate sources Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, SAS, VBA Ability to effectively collaborate and problem solve across both business and technical functions

Candidates should have excellent communication skills

Responsibilities OPPORTUNITY: The AO is seeking applicants for our agency\'s Volunteer Student Internship Program. The opportunity is intended to provide valuable work experience and prepare students interested in a public service career. The AO is looking for volunteer student interns with backgrounds and/or demonstrated interest in the following areas: human resources, public affairs, law, business administration (marketing, budget, accounting, etc.), and information technology. The Volunteer Student Intern will have an opportunity to improve his or her writing, research, analytical, logical, multi-tasking, and customer service skills. Students must also be in good academic standing, maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Additional Qualification Requirements: In addition to meeting the BASIC QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS, applicants must also: Work well in a team environment. Have strong organization and communication skills and be detailed oriented. Proficiency in using SharePoint, Teams, and other Microsoft Office 365 products. Have excellent writing, reading and interpersonal skills, and be able to organize a variety of assignments simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate or graduate level student working towards a degree in Information Management System. The Volunteer Student Internship Program requires all participants to be an active student. Therefore, seniors graduating at the end of the current semester will not be considered unless they are continuing to pursue advanced studies as a degree-seeking student at the beginning of the next semester. Education All students in the Volunteer Student Internship Program must be enrolled in an accredited school, and must be working toward a degree, diploma, certificate, etc. on a full-time or part-time basis. Students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. You can receive credit for education received outside the United States if you provide evidence that it is comparable to an accredited educational institution in the United States.
