We are seeking a Senior Level/Assistant Controller Accounting Professional to join our organization and be an integral part of the team supporting out mission to provide outstanding client experiences.
The Senior Accountant serves a key role of the financial services team and is responsible for corporate accounting, financial reporting, internal controls,cash management, budgeting, capital account maintenance, annual audits, and tax compliance.
We are a Commercial Construction firm and only seek highly qualified candidates with a minimum of 10 years' experience and expertise at a senior level with accounting and finance responsibilities in a larger scale Commercial Construction/General Contracting organization. Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate and supervise support staff.
Work with external auditors, tax professionals, and insurance companies.
Perform all ongoing daily accounting and administrative/financial duties.
Supervise all aspects of the General Ledger, A/P, A/R, Payroll, Fixed Assets, and financial
reporting.
Manage and forecast company cash flows.
Maintain construction management system, including setting up projects (jobs), estimated job costs, cost codes, contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and, when needed, customizing construction progress reports.
Review construction contract documents including change orders and lien releases.
Manage process for proper and timely coding of construction invoices (payment applications, AIA's, etc.)
Oversee project billings and lien releases for customer invoices.
Oversee disbursements and lien releases for vendor invoices.
Facilitate project reporting needs of operational personnel.
Prepare timely, accurate and informative financial statements and other informative reports for management.
Job Skills and Qualifications Required:
Four‐year business accounting/finance degree and a minimum of 10 years’ progressively
expanding Construction/job cost accounting experience.
Self-starter with the ambition for growth.
Professional written and verbal communication skills.
Extensive experience with QuickBooks Contractor edition, Sage and Procore.
Full understanding of construction cost accounting processes (AIA, job costing, etc.)
Experience reading and/or interpreting construction contracts, lien releases, and other
pertinent construction documents.
Expert skills with MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Experience structuring and applying Microsoft Excel solutions to accounting and
reporting needs.
Adept in responding to common business inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies,
vendors, employees, and management.
Preferred:
QuickBooks Contractor Edition Expertise
Procore software experience is a plus, but not required
Experience with creation of graphs and charts for executive team presentations.
Experience with HR, Benefits, Insurance, Bonding
