In-home child care program seeking a part-time child care teaching assistant. Please note that this is a strictly smoke-free and alcohol-free environment.
The successful applicant must:
Be over 18 years of age, able to read, write, and speak English, and eligible to work legally in the U.S.
Enjoy working with and caring for children of all ages and ethnicities
Pass required criminal background check and medical evaluation
Complete state-mandated child care training,
Hold a valid and current CPR/First Aid certification.
Demonstrate an understanding of infant and toddler developmental milestones and age-appropriate activities
Be comfortable around dogs and cats
Maintain a clean and tidy appearance, dress appropriately for childcare work, and be comfortable with being on the floor at the children's level
Typical job duties include:
- Creating age-appropriate weekly lesson plans
- Lead circle time activities
- Assist children with age-appropriate group and individual activities
- Maintain a clean and hygienic classroom environment, furniture, toys, etc.
- Supervise and monitor children while maintaining their safety
- Meal prep, diaper duties, and general child care cleaning
- Any other duties as assigned by the program director
