Looking for a very competent tutor/personal assistant to work part-time with a 35-year-old autistic male in his home and the community evenings and weekends. The person should be able to work 2 to 4 shifts per week in 4- to 6-hour increments. Shifts may be day, evening, or a combination.
Applicant should have documented work experience with autistic adults in one or more of the following areas: academics, arts, physical fitness, or community engagement. Those applying should be able to develop structured plans for assisting this autistic adult during the time allotted with him in the community. Perfect position for a current/former one-on-one aide in a school system or a retired teacher. Individual must have a pleasant personality, a lot of patience, and a good sense of humor.
This position is located in the Darnestown, Maryland area. The individual must have own transportation to get to the home, but there is a vehicle provided by the family to take the individual into the community.
