Job Title: Event Coordinator/Manager of Synthetic Ice Rink (Seasonal)

Hours:Thursday to Monday 12:30pm- 8:30 pm
Compensation: $30-$40 an hour depending on experience
Dreamland Productions is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Event Coordinator/Manager to help bring our Holiday Skate Spectacular at the DowntownDC Holiday Market to life! In this role, you’ll work closely with our team to create a festive, immersive skating experience that captures the holiday spirit and radiates the joyful, inclusive vibe Dreamland is celebrated for. Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight
Seamless Rink Operations: Oversee day-to-day rink activities, including opening and closing procedures, to maintain an efficient and organized operation. Ensure the rink is always clean, safe, and inviting for guests of all ages.
Staffing and Scheduling: Coordinate staff schedules to meet demand during peak hours, events, and holidays. Ensure adequate staffing levels for smooth operations.
Equipment Management: Ensure that rink equipment is always in optimal condition, prioritizing guest safety and the functionality of all rink elements.
Team Collaboration: Partner with partners, performers, and internal team members to team members to bring the holiday-themed magic to life.
Immersive Atmosphere: Assist in setting up and managing themed décor, costumes, and music to create a vibrant, inclusive environment that transports guests into a magical Dreamland.
On-Site Event Support: Oversee on-site event flow, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a joyful atmosphere for all attendees.
Special Holiday Activities: Support our team in executing unique holiday-themed activities and performances that add to the event’s festive charm.
Team Leadership and Staff Management
Team Training & Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise a seasonal team of attendants, skate rental staff, and customer service personnel, instilling a strong commitment to guest service and safety.
Performance Development: Monitor and mentor staff to deliver high-level service, providing feedback and guidance to support individual and team growth.
Fostering a Positive Culture: Build a collaborative and supportive team environment that motivates employees to create a warm, welcoming, and enjoyable atmosphere for every guest.
Customer Service Excellence
Primary Guest Contact: Act as the main point of contact for all guest inquiries, feedback, and issue resolution, ensuring a smooth and positive customer experience.
Service Training & Standards: Equip our team with the training they need to deliver top-tier guest service, ensuring that every interaction is friendly, festive, and memorable.
Maximizing Guest Satisfaction:implement the philosophy our extensive Handbook ensuring our team excels in our strategies that enhance guest experiences and support our signature programming, which emphasizes joy, community, and celebration.
Safety and Compliance
Safety Protocols: Enforce rigorous safety standards, educating staff on compliance and best practices to ensure a safe experience for guests and employees alike.
Proactive Risk Management: Conduct regular safety checks and assessments, training staff to address potential risks proactively.
Emergency Response: Lead the team in responding to any incidents or emergencies promptly and professionally, following established safety and emergency protocols.
Financial and Administrative Duties
Ticketing & Financial Oversight: Manage ticket registration and ensure financial accuracy and security in reporting.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory for skates, equipment, and supplies, ensuring all items are well-maintained and readily available.

Experience:
Proven Venue Management Experience: Experience in managing high-traffic venues, events, or attractions, ideally in a customer-focused, family-friendly setting.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, and develop a team, with a track record of fostering positive team dynamics.
Skills:
Customer-Centric Mindset: Exceptional customer service skills with a proactive approach to ensuring guest satisfaction.
Problem Solving Under Pressure: Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to address a wide range of guest and operational issues calmly and effectively.
Clear Communication: Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with guests, team members, and vendors.
Additional Requirements:
Flexible Scheduling: Availability to work evenings and weekends.
Safety &; Emergency Protocol Knowledge: Familiarity with public venue safety protocols, ensuring the highest standards for guests and staff.
Physical Stamina: Ability to move around the rink, assist with setup and takedown, and address any maintenance needs as they arise.

Love For Skating: Love for skating and themed events is a big plus!
