I am seeking a caregiver to take care of my elderly father in my home. An ideal position for a student in college.
This is not a 24x7 job. There is no watching him. Living onsite is optional.
He needs his meds and meals twice a day.
Cleaning and bathing is once a day unless he is sick.
Duties:
- Provide in-home care to an elderly male (96) in need of assistance with daily activities
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring the safety and well-being of the individual
- Prepare meals
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
Qualifications:
- First aid and CPR certification
- Experience in caregiving or a related field, such as nursing home or assisted living facility
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures and protocols
- Cooking and cleaning skills
- The ability to do laundry
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors and provide behavior management techniques
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
