Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Plastic Surgery

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist with a strong Facial/Plastic Surgery background to scrub under the direct supervision of the surgeons and RN. The Center for Facial Cosmetic Surgery is an outpatient facility in McLean, VA, across from Tysons Galleria Mall.

This is a Full-Time position, Monday – Friday, with NO WEEKEND!

As a Certified Surgical Technician, you will prepare and maintain sterile supplies, instruments, equipment, and rooms for surgical procedures and pass items to surgeons and nurses as needed. Assists surgeon in operative procedures as First Assistant. Demonstrates and adheres to principles of aseptic techniques. Knowledge of basic set-up for surgical procedures. Recognize safety hazards and, initiate appropriate corrective and/or preventive measures, and perform other related duties as a key member of the team supporting the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

- Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures

- Set up surgical instruments and equipments

- Pass instruments to surgeons during surgical procedures

- Assist surgeon in surgical procedures

- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure

- Assist in patient positioning on the operating table

- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures

- Prepare and manage surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies

- Assist in turnover OR

- Clean instruments, autoclaving, and the sterilization documentation.

- Monitor of sterilization equipments and logs.

- Perform other related duties as needed

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

- 1-2 years experience in surgical operating rooms, with a focus on facial and/or plastic surgery.

- Current Certified Surgical Technician (CST) credentials in Virginia

- Current BLS (Basic Life Support)

- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining surgical standards

- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with lifting patients

- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills are required.

- Ability to work well within a team.

- Familiarity with medical terminology

- Ability to navigate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems

- Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting is a PLUS!
