In search of a compassionate and competent companion/caregiver for individual with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. Individual is in early stages, with loss of short term memory but otherwise in good physical health. Candidate would be required to perform the following tasks:
1. Prepare light meals
2. Take client on walks in community
3. Drive client to appointments
4. Take client to social activities including mini golf, movies, dance lessons, etc.
5. Engage client in activities like puzzles, board games, word games and memory-support activities
6. Ensure client bathes and shaves regularly
7. Engage client in conversation regularly
8. Ensure client does their daily workout routines (in home gym)
9. Travel with client from time to time if needed
10. Ensure client takes their daily medications on schedule
11. Light laundry and housekeeping
Ideal candidate will:
1. Have previous experience working with adults with Memory problems
2. Have a patient temperament and empathetic nature
3. Have a positive and caring attitude
4. Be able to prepare simple healthy meals (food provided)
5. Already have or be willing to get CPR certified
6. Have energy to handle duties and keep client engaged in daily activities
7. Work with family members who are engaged in supporting client on a regular basis
8. Agree to a criminal and financial background check
9. Speak English and be able to communicate clearly and precisely
