The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties: · Interview patients to gather demographic and insurance information in order to register the patient in the computer system · Establish the patient medical record · Provides Advanced Beneficiary Notices, HIPAA, Patient Rights and benefit assignments as directed · Obtains authorizations, certifications, and referrals from insurance companies · Identifies patient’s financial responsibilities and collects payments · Liaison between patients, patients' relatives, and the healthcare organization · Communicates patients' questions and concerns to appropriate staff members · Explains policies and procedures to patients and refers them to the proper services required · Ensuring all confidentiality and privacy rights of residents are observe. · Supports and promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values; adheres to all hospital policies and procedures; commits to the Standards of Conduct; maintains professional appearance. · Other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications: · High School Diploma (or equivalent) · Minimum of one (1) year experience in a customer-focused industry · Knowledge of principles and practices of patient registration, insurance reimbursement, governmental and other payer source billing, credit and collections, cashiering and admitting · Familiar with functions, capabilities and operation of computer-based billing, patient accounts, and registration management systems · Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy and compassion · Excellent computer and communication skills. · Effective communication skills, including active listening, writing, speaking and reading comprehension · Good collaboration and teamwork skills · Fast and adaptive problem-solving abilities · Keen attention to detail · Follow all established Federal, State and Local rules, regulations and guidelines. Experience:
