BACKGROUND
I am a recent transplant from the Midwest with a significant physical disability. I am a corporate business executive and I need assistance with all of my activities of daily living, plus assistance around the house and to be driven in my car. I live in Palm Beach Gardens area in a gated community.
POSITION
I am looking for individuals to serve as my Personal Care Attendants. I am specifically looking for individuals with previous caregiving/healthcare experience who are looking for a FULL TIME job opportunity. The position requires you to essentially serve as my arms and legs. I need assistance getting up in the morning, getting ready for my day/work, doing chores around my house, feeding me, taking care of my dogs, and driving me places as necessary. I also need assistance overnight, throughout the night.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to present some valid social security number
English-speaking
Physically fit, must be able to regularly lift and carry 100 pounds
Non-smoker, does not use recreational drugs at any time
Driver's license with driving experience in a city environment
No criminal record, background check will be conducted
Comfortable around dogs
Comfortable in a gay environment
Looking for a full-time job, long-term oriented
HOURS
I have two positions available, I am looking for one person for the morning/day and one person for the evening/overnight:
Evening/Overnight Shift
Sunday through Thursday
6:30 PM to 7 AM, 30 minute unpaid no break
Please note: while you are required to wake up throughout the night, you are not required to stay awake all night
Morning/Day Shift
Monday through Friday
6:30 AM to 7 PM, 30 minute unpaid meal break
CONSIDERATION
$3,524 a month, taxable income
$1,812 a month, taxable living expense stipend
$200 a month, non-taxable alternating back up (see below)
1 week paid vacation annually, scheduled based on mutual availability
You will also have access to your own bedroom/bathroom equipped with Wi-Fi/TV and kitchenette while working. This will serve as your home base when not needed. There is quite a bit of downtime with this position.
OTHER IMPORTANT CRITERIA
This job must be your sole or primary job if hired. Under NO circumstances can I go without care. Accepting this position means you understand that you may be called in to work if another individual is unavailable in an emergency/needs to switch their shift. You will be compensated a monthly backup stipend and living expenses for your extra commitment. Your commitment is rewarded through these additional benefits. I created this position in such a way that you should not need to work any other job.
I am looking for people who are interested in long-term positions. I'm not looking for short-term, seasonal workers.
This job requires you to be given tasks and directions, and you are to complete those efficiently and effectively. Providing service to other people and putting yourself second is a difficult concept for certain people. Downtime is not scheduled and depends on when I am not in need of your assistance. I have a busy job that is demanding as it is, and your role is to help me with the physical aspects of my life so I can complete my job. If you are somebody that does not do well with taking direction, and/or requires regimented breaks with consistency, this is not a job for you.
