Electrical Engineer

Job DescriptionOur client currently has an exciting Electrical Engineer opening in Jacksonville, FL. The Electrical engineer will primarily support the firm's US Post Office program, which consists of a wide range of project types, for the federal government, across the country. This person will be responsible design and engineering efforts of low and medium-voltage power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, instrumentation and controls, and networking and communication systems, and will perform facilities assessments, feasibility studies, specifications, construction administration, cost estimating, and calculations when necessary.Responsibilities:

Designated as Lead Electrical Engineer, mentor other electrical staff.

Coordinate with other disciplines and work in a team environment.

Conduct field investigations when needed, produce field reports with detailed sketches.

Perform duties with multiple projects within the established schedules and budgets.

Work on a wide variety of project types, scales and complexity.

Assist in developing feasibility studies.

Meet, communicate, and coordinate with Clients to develop scopes, prepare proposals, and oversee the installation of the work, and manage internal and external project budgets.

Establish design direction, develop technical drawings and specifications, and direct overall project schedule and budget.

Manage a wide variety of project type, scale and complexities.

Review installation of designed equipment/systems for compliance with construction documents.

Research Code issues and work with City, State, and County officials

Travel to job-sites, with occasional overnight stays.

Meet cost and time schedules while producing quality results.

Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) Registration in Florida preferred

5 - 15 years relevant work experience, including project management, design, layout, analysis of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, instrumentation, controls, and/or low-voltage systems.

Working knowledge of NEC, IEC, ISA & IEEE design complying with industry standards

Judicial, Municipal, Educational, Transit, Aviation, and/or Federal Project experience is preferred

Proficient in REVIT and strong AutoCAD skills required

Specification writing skills required.

Strong written and oral presentation skills

Experience in a variety of project types, scale, and complexity

Arc-flash study experience a plus.

Experience working on concurrent projects, collaborating with multiple design disciplines, and technical production project experience.

Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements.
