Description Legal Assistants directly support lawyers and may be required to supervise other legal staff, such as legal secretaries or file clerks.The ideal Legal Assistant will have sound technical and computer knowledge as well as excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills.Three to five years of legal experience in a law firm or other corporate legal department may be preferred.What you get to do every day
Collect and prep documents for photocopying/scanning
Scout and retrieve electronic documents from a variety of court and agency web sites
Store documents and assemble data as directed by lawyers and paralegals
Provide credible copies after checking originals
Perform legal research and investigative tasks, including obtaining information or documents from outside parties, as directed
Maintain electronic documents and files
Develop organization system for matter management and record keeping
Write communications and memorandum
Take care of computer database input and retrieval
Implement word processing, filing and faxing Requirements
Experience assisting lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials and conferences; completing many administrative tasks, including, working on individual cases or transactions
Investigating the factual evidence of a transaction or case and preparing exhibits, charts and diagrams to display information
Organizing and tracking files for important transactions or case documents, including pleadings and voluminous discovery documents; creating and maintaining a case-management database
Drafting legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits and subpoenas; transactional documents, such as trusts, wills, contracts and real estate leases; and closing documents
3+ years of previous legal work experience and a dedication to integrity
Knowledge of Calendaring
Schedule Depositions, Hearing, Mediations experience
Deep understanding of ProLaw calendaring
E-file experience
Comprehensive knowledge of Calendar Management
Adeptness in e-Filing
Conducting routine discovery
