Network Administrator

Description As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our organization's network infrastructure to ensure its reliability, security, and performance. You will play a crucial role in configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network devices and services, while also collaborating with other IT teams to support the overall technology needs of the business. This role requires a strong technical background in networking, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Responsibilities:

Network Configuration and Management: Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Implement network protocols, VLANs, routing policies, and quality of service (QoS) settings to optimize performance and ensure efficient communication between network segments.

Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, traffic patterns, and utilization using network monitoring tools. Identify and troubleshoot network issues, bottlenecks, and outages to minimize downtime and disruption to business operations. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Network Security and Access Control: Implement and enforce network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and data breaches. Configure firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), access control lists (ACLs), and virtual private networks (VPNs) to enforce security policies and compliance requirements.

User Support and Training: Provide technical support to end-users regarding network connectivity, access issues, and security concerns. Assist users with network-related inquiries and troubleshooting. Develop and deliver training sessions and documentation to educate users on network best practices and security awareness.

Change Management and Documentation: Manage network changes and configurations in accordance with change management processes and procedures. Document network configurations, topology diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain an accurate inventory of network assets and configurations.

Vendor Management and Collaboration: Collaborate with third-party vendors, service providers, and contractors to procure network equipment, services, and support. Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality of service and timely resolution of issues.

Network Capacity Planning and Optimization: Conduct capacity planning assessments to anticipate future network requirements and growth. Scale network infrastructure and resources as needed to accommodate increased demand, new applications, and business expansion. Implement optimizations and tuning to improve network performance and reliability.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.

Minimum of X years of experience in network administration or a related role.

Strong knowledge of networking principles, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, and wireless networking.

Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or Palo Alto Networks.

Familiarity with network security concepts and technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and encryption protocols.

Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as Nagios, SolarWinds, Wireshark, or Cisco Prime.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
