What You'll DoAs a New Business Consultant , you’ll collaborate closely with local financial professionals and home office partners, to provide a high level of service for new business processing functions, including partnership in case consultation and other aspects of new business case design. The successful candidate will be diligent to details and able to excel and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for a well-organized teammate who enjoys multi-tasking, working with technology and people. It offers a good balance between team support responsibilities and independent, project-based work.Here are few examples of things you’ll do:

Ensure all new business cases are processed in a timely manner, working closely with financial professionals to collect missing data needed to process each case.

Track each case from initial submission to issue and follow up on cases with home office as needed.

Gain an understanding of guidelines and processes across each of the product lines.

Partner with financial professionals on plan design, product and presentation solutions.

Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all products and services offered and system capabilities of Principal Financial Group.

Run product illustrations to support financial plan, and prepare for client presentations, including documents/ paperwork needed for submission.

Become a local subject matter expert, providing training and consultation to advisors and staff on end to end new business design and submission.

Complete local administrative tasks such as greeting guests, processing incoming and outgoing mail, answering phones, facilities management and managing office supplies as needed.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

2+ years related work experience (financial services or sales support experience preferred).

Strong customer service, organization, critical thinking, and ability to learn new skills are required.

Experience with Salesforce and/or other CRM platforms is highly preferred

A strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to customer needs as well as communication and relationship building skills.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to prioritize assignments, adapt to changing priorities and perform under pressure.

Salary Range InformationSalary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance.
