Security Engineer

Description Responsibilities

Manage and maintain our Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution, Splunk, for real-time activity monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.

Configure and customize Splunk dashboards and reports to identify potential security incidents and provide insights for security analysts.

Develop and maintain Security Event Correlation Rules (SECRs) to identify suspicious activity within log data.

Investigate security alerts generated by SIEM and DLP systems, analyze potential threats, and escalate incidents as needed.

Implement and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to prevent sensitive data exfiltration.

Work with security analysts and IT teams to investigate and remediate security incidents.

Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.

Participate in security assessments and penetration testing activities.

Document security processes and procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years of experience in information security with a focus on Security Operations (SecOps).

Proven experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Splunk.

Experience with SIEM correlation rule development and security log analysis.

Working knowledge of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) concepts and technologies.

Strong understanding of security best practices and frameworks (e.g., NIST, MITRE ATT& CK).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

Experience with other SIEM solutions (e.g., Arcsight, LogRhythm).

Experience with Python for scripting and automation.

Experience with security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) tools.

Cloud security experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
