Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Jacksonville, Florida. This role is integral to our financial operations, dealing with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. The Staff Accountant will be required to engage in a wide range of tasks and processes within our team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of financial record keeping and transactions.Responsibilities: Ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial representative's commissions. Overseeing and maintaining entries in the accounting system using double-entry accounting procedures. Regularly reconciling balance sheet accounts and maintaining accuracy between multiple books. Assisting in the collections process of terminated financial representative's debt balances. Collaborating with the accounting associate to ensure vendors' invoices and payments are in good standing. Regularly reviewing and analyzing due to/from accounts to maintain accuracy. Assisting in overseeing all aspects of accounts payable/reimbursements. Researching and resolving variances and irregularities on a consistent basis. Ensuring timely preparation of annual 1099 statements for financial representatives. Maintaining accurate records of financial representative's outstanding debt recovery. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations Comprehensive knowledge of General Ledger Proficient in creating Journal Entries Experience in Month End Close procedures Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously High level of integrity and trustworthiness Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
