Experienced full time diner breakfast/lunch cooks must be required to be accepted into this position, employee is requested to work in the kitchen area full time with availability.
A brunch diner cook's responsibilities may include: Prepping ingredients, Accepting orders, Preparing dishes, Maintaining a clean work area, Keeping track of inventory, Checking food inventory, Cleaning cooking equipment, Storing leftover food, Managing food storage and stock levels, Training kitchen hands or apprentices, Liaising with wait, staff and management, Delivering food to customers, Clearing the table when customers are finished, and Placing dirty dishes in the dishwashing area. (Other responsibilities may include:), Cutting or peeling fruits and vegetables, Boiling water for rice or pasta, Making sure food on the menu is available, Eggs professionalism and fryer professionalism, Seasoning food, Making special dishes for customers with food allergies, Developing new recipes, Overseeing food preparation and kitchen staff, Visually inspecting, selecting and using only food items of the highest quality, Cooks should follow all safety and sanitary protocols and have a high tolerance threshold for heat while working in the kitchen.
