Job Description: The Messaging and Collaboration Engineer is responsible for technical design, implementation, and operational support across the firm's Messaging and Collaboration environment. You will be responsible for contributing to a program of change including the creation of ongoing framework of global standards in support of the company’s business and technical goals. You will be responsible for projects that have many interdependencies that will challenge you and require cross team collaboration. Many of the services this team will support includes components from both Azure & AWS and either having those skills and/or being open to learning them is a must.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to workflow across change requests, documentation, ticketing, and meeting facilitation
Efficiently troubleshoot/prioritize issues and create a culture of root cause analysis
Responsible for configuration, management, and support of global Messaging and Collaboration infrastructure with careful regard to availability, connectivity, performance, and security
Provide escalation support to the IT Service Desk/Desktop support teams
Architect and implement automation ensuring a consistent and reliable environment
Coordinate vendor escalations by acting as a bridge between the vendor’s engineering resources and the firm.
Continuously move the company forward by researching new and emerging technologies
Participate and oversee efforts in audits related to Messaging and Directory Services infrastructure
Provides On-call and off-hours system support
Analyze cross-technology and cross-platform issues
Ability to identify potential areas of improvement and make recommendations
Understanding of IT governance, information security policies, standards, and industry best practices.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate has worked extensively with a range of messaging services and heavily involved in design and implementation of global collaboration tools. The ability to learn rapidly and think outside the box is as important as the technical skills
Required Skills:
Expertise in designing, configuring, supporting and maintaining Exchange Online (M365)
Demonstrate management experience of Azure and M365
Knowledge of 3rd party applications and their interactions with M365
Knowledge M365 Security and Compliance center/MS Purview
Excellent PowerShell skills to manage and automate all functions of Exchange
Experience with electronic communication capturing (Smarsh, Actiance, GlobalRelay, etc) a plus.
Experience with conferencing and collaboration services (MS Teams) in M365.
Experience with cloud-based email security gateways and understanding 3rd party mail-flow solutions, eg: Messagelabs, Mimecast, Proofpoint is a plus.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, as well as a methodical and disciplined approach to IT issue resolution and systems management
Strong written, verbal , and organizational skills along with attention to detail
Configure and maintain SPF, DKIM and DMARC records
