PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for outcomes in assigned areasMaintains open communication and partners with clinical, financial, and administrative partners within the hospitalFocuses on process improvement strategies with special attentions to KPI metricsReviews reports as available and communicates outcomes to team and leadership in a timely manner, providingaccurate statistical records and reportsAdheres to labor and budget guidelines. Monitors team time and attendance according to policyAssists in the development and monitoring of KPIs and facilities communication of KPIs as requestedTrains and evaluate team membersCoordinates and sets up schedules for team members' training and education sessionsMonitors the department's work for accuracy and workflowIdentifies own learning needs and seeks opportunity for growthKeeps up with assigned workload and seeks assistance when necessaryCommunicates all team member situations to the senior manager or directorInitiates and assumes responsibility for new tasks independently as appropriate and as delegatedChecks in with team members at a regular cadence to provide mentorship, resolve issues, and ensure performance isreviewed according to policyMaintains rapport with ancillary departmentsWorks with Talent Acquisition for staffing needsEnsures team members are oriented to the department at time of hireAddresses progressive counseling according to policyPerforms other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:Mature judgement in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representativesIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with database programsAbility to operate general office machines such as computer, fax machine, printer, and scannerAbility to effectively learn and perform multiple tasks, and organize work in a systematic and efficient fashionAbility to communicate professionally, both verbally and nonverbally, and utilizes effective listening and questioningtechniquesAbility to manage diverse personalitiesAbility to adapt in ever changing healthcare environmentAbility to follow complex instructions and procedures, with a close attention to detailAdheres to government guidelines such as CMS, EMTALA, and HIPAA and AdventHealth corporate policiesExceptional customer service skillsAdvanced understanding of insurance knowledge and benefitsAdvanced understanding of hospital electronic medical report (EMR) systemBasic medical terminologyMust be able to read, write, and speak conversational EnglishKNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and ability to use discretion when discussing patient relatedinformation that is confidential in nature as needed to perform dutiesIntermediate medical terminologyBilingual – English/SpanishQualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Bachelors or 4 years experienceEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Master's degree in business, education, Health Services Administration, or related fieldLICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION:National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM)Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAMThis facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
