Perform legal and factual research

Interface with clients

Maintain attorney’s calendar

Manage cases to ensure compliance with deadlines and requirements

Perform records research

Identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material

Organize and analyze information

Cross-check and validate information

Conduct legal research and gather relevant case law, statutes, and regulations

Draft legal documents including briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts and legal memoranda

Help prepare legal arguments, applications, declarations and motions

Prepare correspondence

Check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy

Build and maintain databases and files

Organize and track case files

Coordinate law office activities such as subpoena delivery

Help with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits and trial binders

Drafting letters, court pleadings, and motions

Drafting documents using customized forms

Preparing discovery and responses to discovery demands

Completing legal forms

Scheduling and calendaring tasks

Assisting attorney in preparing cases for hearings and mediations

Communicating with clients with updates and gathering information

Other tasks as assigned

- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited program

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal in family law

- Proficient in legal research techniques and the use of legal research databases (e.g., WestLaw)

- Proficient in e-filing portal

- Strong knowledge of family law procedures and regulations

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

- Familiarity with document management systems and electronic filing systems

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Note: Experience with litigating family law cases is required.
