General description:
Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and performs preventive, predictive, and emergency repairs.
Job Duties:
Performs all job functions in such a manner that Company quality objectives and standards are met to minimize down time.
Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters/amp meters, diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacture’s instructions and engineering specifics.
Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves, and motors.
Diagnosis and repairs issues with controllers, drives, automation, and electrical systems; removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoist, cranes, hand and power tools.
Adjusts, repairs, and replaces electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic components; ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors conveyor system, production machines, cranes and earth moving equipment.
Maintains records for all inspections, test, repairs and preventative maintenance by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and needs.
Assist supervisor in maintaining equipment, parts, inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed parts, supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Must be able to work all shifts when necessary.
Performs other associated responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills:
Demonstrated ability to work with hands and work in mechanically oriented situations following instructions of a supervisor: ability to work with little or no supervision after given proper instructions:
Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved.
Skilled in the care and use of tools and equipment used in the trades involved including hoists and forklifts,
Ability to detect defects in equipment and to make proper repairs or adjustments.
Ability to interpret and work from electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
Three years experience in industrial maintenance work which has involved electrical and mechanical trades.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to understand and use both English and metric units of measurement.
Basic computer skills.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving different variables in manufacturing situations.

The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds.
The employee will be working in indoor and outdoor conditions.
Hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection and steel toe boots will be required.
Required Experience:
· 3 to 5 years performing maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Note: This position also performs all other duties as required by management. During busy periods, we may require employees to work extended hours. Overtime is considered a condition of employment at the time of need. Refusal to accept it when reasonable notice has been given is cause for disciplinary action including termination.
