CUSTODIAN FOR HIRE
IMMEDIATE OPENING
Local 55+ Co-Op Community is looking to hire a Custodian to service its numerous buildings and vast surrounding grounds. Must perform a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to cleaning, work orders and assisting maintenance personnel. Requires prolonged walking and standing. Must be able to work independently and effectively with others. Time management is a must. High school degree and valid Florida Driver’s License required. Competitive compensation.
Reports to Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities
Clean in designated buildings, common areas and restock supplies (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling
vents, restroom cleaning etc.)
Sanitize and clean toilets, urinals, showers, sinks and counters, high touch areas, clean mirrors, and fixtures.
Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
Restock supplies and maintain inventory.
Maintain and clean custodial equipment and storage areas.
Follow all health and safety regulations. Handle cleaning chemicals safely, wear the proper PPE
Dispose of trash from offices and common areas. Keep trash bins clean and sanitized, refill liners.
Dust and wipe windowsills, blinds, doors and common area surfaces.
Maintain floors in designated areas, sweep and mop hard surface floors. Vacuum clean carpets, chairs and other seating surfaces.
Operate floor scrubber and custodial equipment. Respond to and resolve spills and stains.
Perform maintenance tasks and complete work orders when daily cleaning is completed. Such tasks may include, but are not
limited to, setting up for events, yard work, painting, and pressure washing. Perform other duties as assigned.
The Custodian position performs routine cleaning and maintenance work to maintain a safe and clean environment for
Shareholders, guests, and staff.
While custodians mainly work inside, they also have duties that take place outside like sweeping walkways, pressure washing,
picking up litter and yard waste.
Requirements and skills
High school degree
Florida Driver’s License
Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
1 year cleaning or maintenance technician experience
Integrity, strong work ethic, dependable.
Ability to multitask, time management skills
Ability to work independently, as well as a team player
Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; Weekends as needed
