This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in the Office of Information Technology. Salary: $54,982.98 Annual Rate SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is designated to perform systems development functions as well as provide independent programming support and performs systems analysis support for subsystems of the Department’s Offender Based Information System with specific focus on Visual Basic applications, Microsoft SQL databases and XML web services, this includes server and desktop engineering support.

Analyzes, codes, tests, and maintains new and existing custom applications. Converts detailed logical flow chart or diagram to a language that can be processed by a computer.

Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and conducts analysis of applications. Determine the best approach to process, store, and retrieve information. Assists other developers with designing and developing applications. Develops custom controls and othr unique solutions that will be re-used by other developers and applications. Assists with the installation of computer programs, components, and/or system software.

Writes program documention for applications, custom controls, and coding techniques for other developers. This includes developing diagrams, flowcharts, Use Cases, work flows, etc. Assists users with writing application documentation to be used as training documents for end users.

Performs complex analysis, conducts studies, and design technology solutions involving multiple hardware, software, and network platforms. Inventory and management of all related information technology assets, including hardware and software inventory. Development of procedures and development of controls for the proper licensing of computer software. Performs Systems administration on servers, desktop engineering support, ensures systems integrity and security. Responds to users request for assistance and setup of new equipment.

Works independently on special projects. Tasks include, but not limited to, development of timelines, documentation of process flow, preparation or written plans, tracking and documentation of project milestones.

Assists in the development of technical specifications for Requests for Proposals and Invitation to bid documents.
