Director of Transplant Immunology Laboratory - FloridaKelly Scientific is seeking an experienced Transplantation Lab Director for a renown not-for-profit Tissue Bank in the Southeastern US. This is a direct hire opportunity.The Immunology Laboratory is an independent ASHI accredited laboratory serving the OPO and is the central histocompatibility laboratory for 7 transplant centers that encompass 15 adult and pediatric solid organ transplant programs. In 2019, they performed 626 deceased donor workups and facilitated 983 transplants.The successful candidate will be encouraged to participate in the development and implementation of new assays/technologies and conduct clinical investigations with our partner transplant centers. The position requires rotating administrative on call (AOC) duties and demonstrating sound judgement in making independent decisions. The candidate must have excellent technical abilities, strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse multidisciplinary programs. The Director reports to the Executive Laboratory Director.Requirements:
Ph.D. or M.D. degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 2 years of Immunology and 2 years of Human Histocompatibility training.
Board certified or eligible within ASHI, ABB, ABMLI or ASCP
Certification by the ASHI DTRC as a Histocompatibility Laboratory Director or able to achieve this certification within one year.
Clinical Laboratory Director License must be obtained prior to employment.
Strong background in serological infectious disease testing, solid phase assays, molecular biology techniques including NGS, and flow cytometry technologies as applicable to solid organ testing.
